UAE police medallion

Description

This police medallion comes from the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and the golden falcon lining the gift box is the national emblem of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The gift was presented by Ras Al Khaimah’s police director, Major General Sheikh Taleb bin Saqr Al Qassimi, while visiting Premier Wu Den-yih in late 2010. Ras Al Khaimah is one of seven emirates of the UAE and sits near the northern border of Oman. Covering an area of 1,683 square kilometers, the emirate has a population of about 260,000. Taiwan has established a Commercial Office of the ROC in nearby Dubai to promote bilateral trade with the UAE. So far, four agreements on aviation rights and tourism have been signed between the countries.
