Description

On a visit to Miaoli County’s Dahu Township, Premier Lai Ching-te said that the Executive Yuan and the Council of Agriculture (COA) strongly support rural regeneration programs. Since President Tsai Ing-wen took office, the county has received approximately NT$1 billion (US$32.5 million) in funding to revitalize rural communities. Miaoli not only boasts the nation’s highest program participation rate of 82 percent, but is also home to 27 of the Top 100 Young Farmers selected by the COA. Two of the silver medalists of the Golden Village Awards, the highest accolade for Taiwan’s villages, are also located in Miaoli County.
