Description

Premier Chen Chien-jen visits Taitung County’s Orchid Island (Lanyu) to inspect the repair of damaged homes and the indigenous Yami people’s traditional fishing boats, as well as work to restore power and manage waste in the aftermath of Typhoon Koinu. The central and local governments cooperated to clean up the roughly 1,600 metric tons of trash and debris left behind by the typhoon, making Orchid Island a pristine, beautiful and comfortable place to live once more.
