Combining calligraphy and carving, this antique name board is both a cultural treasure and a witness to history. The Chinese characters for “Executive Yuan” are carved on it in bold strokes, from right to left in the traditional style.

The name board hung over the main entrance of the central building for many decades, watching the constant movement of premiers and officials in and out as they worked to serve the nation. It also saw the Executive Yuan evolve through changing political climates to pursue democratic rule, sustainable development and the people’s well-being.
