Description

Premier Lin Chuan attends the inauguration of Hsinchu City’s Gangbei Community long-term care center, which promotes the use of video-calling technology to check in on elderly residents. At the event, the premier noted that as Taiwan’s birth rate declines, young people balancing work and caring for aging parents can take advantage of modern technology to ease their burdens and improve the quality of care. Under the long-term care 2.0 plan, the government is establishing community centers that provide home care, day care and other multi-functional care services. The centers will also soon be staffed by professional health care representatives from medical institutes to form a comprehensive long-term care system.
