The Organizational Act of the Executive Yuan was enacted in 1947 in accordance with the Constitution and amended in 1949 to adjust the number of Cabinet-level organizations to eight ministries, two commissions and one budgeting office. As the nation\u2019s needs changed over the following decades, more agencies were established.\n\nIn more recent times, however, an effort was launched to streamline the executive branch while improving its effectiveness and flexibility. Several government structure laws have been amended or enacted, and the number of Cabinet-level organizations is being adjusted to adapt to the demands of the modern era.
